Activities - Surfing

It has become a popular sport along the coast of the Basque Country as its exposed beaches have reliable surfing conditions. Although autumn and winter are undoubtedly the best periods of the year what regards waves, here there are good surfing conditions throughout the year.

The water temperature in summer is around 20-22 degrees and in winter it rarely goes below 11 degrees.

Places like Punta Galea, Mundaka, Zurriola, Biarritz receive thousands of surfers from all over the world to participate in or just watch national and international competitions organized from spring to autumn.
